The final few days

It's the last few days next week of our current exhibition at Cranleigh Arts Centre.  The Centre is open Tuesday to Saturday 10.00am to 4.30pm and the best bit is that when you've had a look at the exhibition there is yummy tea and cake available from the Art Tea House at the Centre!

Here's what some of our first visitors had to say about what they saw...

...and here's a quick reminder of what you are missing!

George Simpson.

A diptych I've just finished as a commission to commemorate  life in Benghazi before and during the six day war in 1967.  The patterns and symbols denote events and locations at that time.  There are a number of jokes and stories embedded within each painting, which are a challenge for the client to solve.  A pity they weren't finished in time to show in the Cranleigh exhibition.  They go to America in November.

NineTENths opens at Cranleigh Arts Centre

It's finally arrived, the latest exhibition by Ten is fully installed and opens tomorrow (Tuesday 7th October 2014) at Cranleigh Arts Centre.

Members of the group gathered on a rainy Monday morning to hang the work and even with a couple of breaks for coffee we finished in record time and were done by 2.30pm - clearly we are getting practiced at this!

Members of TEN discuss hanging options

Below is a sneak peak of the work on show...

The final exhibition

As well as showing our work in the beautiful gallery space above, the group were also offered the opportunity to show extra work in a smaller gallery area at Cranleigh Arts Centre.  The Glass Gallery is a large glass fronted cabinet which allowed us to show a mixture of work, some of which is very delicate.

This latest exhibition, "NineTENths" opens on Tuesday 7th October  and runs until Saturday 1st November 2014 at Cranleigh Arts Centre (1 High Street, Cranleigh, Surrey, GU6 8AS) and is open for viewing from 10.00 am to 4.30pm Tuesday to Saturday.
