Celia Stanley

This practice focuses on found objects/personal belongings, and their connectivity to an absent presence:  ‘Everyone knows the power of things: life is solidified in them, more immediately present than in any one of its instants’ (de Beauvoir, 1965).  http://belongings-celia.blogspot.com

The intention behind the small waxed sculptures is to re-present found objects, giving them form and a new function.  Rather than being discarded the object is released into a new existence.
