Growth is Magical, Ink Drawing

#1149, Screenprint

My work explores visual and cultural perception.  The way our physiology determines how we see something and how our upbringing can then influence our interpretations.  Natural and man-made patterns influence how my drawings start and grow

#799, Screenprint on Canvas

Drawing is at the core of my practise, working spontaneously a drawing grows through a unique journey, uncertain of its destination.  There is no attempt to present an immediately identifiable form; I will allow the viewer to decide what is happening.   I am also a printmaker and this gives great flexibility to expand on this process, layering colour fields and developing the interaction of drawn elements.  It allows me to bring fresh interpretations to my drawings.
